Well, maybe not today, another Sunday filled with rain. I slept through another fierce thunderstorm last night, so I have been told...that's too bad...storms are exciting.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that summer is getting very close. As of this coming Friday, minus a couple days during training, and every weekend, I will be at camp for the summer! Whoo hoo! It's already here. I need to get my act together! :) Sometimes I take camp things too lightly because I'm such a pro that I don't have to prepare or think so hard about things where as people who are coming for their first summer are all nervous and excited as can be! I'm excited, but it's a different excitement than I have had any previous summer. It's weird. This morning in church the pastor did a "hello" thing like, "greet the person next to you and tell them what you like to do in the summer". I leaned over to Jean, the keyboard player, and was like, "well, I don't know much different from a summer at camp now because this is the 5th summer I will be doing that...so, I guess you could say that's what I like to do...???" I stopped and was like, "whoa, dude, this is my 5th summer, I DON'T know anything different DO I? Wow!" Yet every summer is SO different, it's amazing.
That's enough for now...don't worry, I'll be sure to type plenty about camp through out the summer.
I wrote a song dedicated to this summer...hopefully it will be recorded soon....
Summer Prayer
You’ve brought me here
To be Your servant
And I know
I’ll be blessed too
I give my time
I give my hands
Let them see You
May they choose You
There’s no greater love than what You gave to me
I’ll share what You did up on Calvary’s tree
I want to be Christ-like and loving each day
To each child that hears everything that I say
Lord work in me,
Complete me
Until You return
Your grace is sufficient
To endure the race
And Your Joy
Sustains my life
I’m not perfect
Don’t know all the answers
So let them see You
May they choose You
The moments of laughter of joy and of pain
Are memories made in the sunshine or rain
I’ve witnessed Your mercy and sovereignty
I thank You Lord Jesus for reigning in me
Lord work in me,
Complete me
Until You return
